LEVEL 5 has officially released the game trailer of Yo kai Watch 2: Haunted Domain, bringing the popular franchise up to date with yet another title for the Nintendo Switch. Haunted Domain, which was announced at the Nintendo Direct on September 9, follows the original storyline from the previous part of the franchise Yo kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits, Fleshy Souls, and Psychic Specters. This preview video will show you a bit about Nate Adams as the protagonist as well as the two new yo kai Jibanyan and Whisper as they guide you through the spooky world. This trailer was referred to by Nintendo as an upgrade visually, at least of Yu Gi Ha Kai (not exactly sure how the translation goes...) Watch 2, and it will be adding new stuff for players to enjoy.
LEVEL 5 claims that Haunted Domain is more than just a port of the Nintendo 3DS version onto newer hardware, they say it will completely change the look of the game but will still preserve all the elements that gave Yo kai Watch 2 its uniqueness. Based on the developers, the remake will include every major version of the original game including Bony Spirits, Fleshy Souls, and the latest expansion Psychic Specters and will also introduce new storylines and new Yo kais. This change is quite radical and makes Haunted Domain a more detailed version of the story of the second game rather than a simple remaster of it. The first Yo kai Watch game featured Nate as the main character who solved supernatural mysteries, made friendships with Yo kais and was able to go through time while at the same time, the game combined the elements of role playing, exploration, and collecting creatures together with the unique world inspired by Japanese folklore, the trademark of the series.
