Final Fantasy VII Revelation's new gameplay details reveal how the full party will divide and conquer across the planet in the trilogy's climactic finale.

You can switch between characters while exploring the open world. This lets you move around smoothly and change who you’re controlling whenever you want. Gravity changes aren’t just for show; they’re a key part of how you play. Use a grappling gun to quickly move up and down. The Highwind is back as a main transport ship, allowing you to use parachutes to land safely anywhere on the map. Moving from sky to ground is simple. The game’s strategy involves dealing with meteor showers on one side of the map while several other problems happen simultaneously on the other. You’ll need to figure out where to go, who to help, and which problems to tackle first. Your choices will really affect how the story and gameplay unfold.

The battle rages on within the confines of the FITS system, which outfits characters in occupation-themed costumes that enhance their abilities to evoke the roles of those in various media from the Final Fantasy series. The State of Play footage showed Cloud in his Warrior FITS and Tifa in her Black Mage FITS, altering their respective move sets and tactical options during combat. The hybrid real-time action and Tactical Mode system returns with new additions like Vincent Valentine (voiced by Matthew Mercer) and Cid Highwind as fully playable characters. The Gamescom trailer revealed legendary Weapons, Emerald, Ruby, and Ultimate, reworked superbosses requiring punishing end-game encounters to pay homage to their original 1997 designs. A new summon, Typhon, has also been unveiled, offering another devastating option for players.
