As one of the major announcements on the latest update, the collaboration between Epic Games, Square Enix, and Disney has opened the gates for players of Fortnite to see how the legendary Kingdom Hearts character Sora fits into their world. The short clip shows that iconic action RPG protagonist stepping into a version of Sora's hometown the beach of Destiny Islands equipped this time only with his Kingdom Key. The release of the joint project featuring characters and items from both franchises is expected during this week from the Fortnite developers as far as the official message from Epic goes. But, even the release time, let alone the date on which the Sore will become available via Item Shop haven't been revealed yet.
The partnership comes with Fortnite Chapter 7 Season: Overdrive, one season where the creators really focus on bringing into the video popular culture properties. In reality Sora's content wasn't yet made available when the season started on August 20 doesn't change really he has previously appeared in a poster for promotion of the season along other characters like those from Sonic the Hedgehog, Mega Man, Persona 5, Crash Bandicoot, and other video game series. Based on a teaser revealed very recently, the wait is almost over. To help this collaboration, Sora gets a skin and an aesthetic of Fortnite that keeps at the same time his visual identity so much that his silhouette and outfit alone have made him the face of the Kingdom Hearts franchise. His looks here are modeled after the design of Sora when he was in the game Kingdom Hearts II which is an old, but still very recognizable version of Sora that many people remember from the series.
